Standing at 5'7", Paige is taller than average height and only at 125 lbs, average weight for her stature. Her features create a mix between striking and beautiful, though she tends to stay natural, something she learned from her mother and because she hates the feel of a ton of make up on her skin. Being involved in several fights against other mutants has toned her young body into perfection, and though she doesn't have many scars due to her mutation, the one or two that are there she is proud of. Her long, blonde hair is always taken care of and left down in it's natural waves.

Long, tone legs lead up to a bubble butt that seems to defy gravity and continue further up to a strong back. A flat stomach contours into an average B-cup and to strong shoulders and long arms that end in long-fingered hands. A slender neck leads to an oval shaped face that holds a pair of almond shaped blue eyes, a long nose (that she sometimes thinks is somewhat beakish) and a wide mouth with a full bottom lip and a medium top. With skin that's only just slightly tanned (barely there, really), she knows that she has enough to work with, and has enough intelligence to make herself stick in someone's memory or completely disappear from it.

More often than not, Paige's wardrobe tends to lean towards the country but chic look. She dresses casually, usually comfortable in a pair of jeans or shorts and a t-shirt or a tank top. Her favorite clothing is a pair of faded jeans with the left knee ripped open and her black top. On assignment, however, she dons the uniform leathers with ease.

Taurus
Taurus is an earth sign represented by the bull. Like their celestial spirit animal, Taureans enjoy relaxing in serene, bucolic environments, surrounded by soft sounds, soothing aromas, and succulent flavors. Taurus is ruled by Venus, the enchanting planet that governs love, beauty, and money. Taurus’s Venusian influence make this earth sign the most sensual of the zodiac: These cosmic oxen are enchanted by any physical manifestation of comfort and luxury. Pleasure is a necessity for epicurean Taureans and they feel most content when pampered. (Taurus governs the neck, so neck caresses are especially irresistible to these bulls.)

It's true that in their perfect world, Taureans would spend all day bathing in a tub overflowing with essential oils. At the same time, these earth signs know the value of a dollar. Taureans aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and work hard to earn big rewards. They're ambitious, focused, and resilient and they feel most secure when steadily putting money into a savings account.

Cosmic oxen are all about return on investment (the bull is also the symbol of Wall Street), and Taureans know how to play the long game in both professional and romantic pursuits. Security is paramount for Taureans and any threat to their stability will be sure to have a celestial bull seeing red.

As a sign, Taurus is fixed, an astrological quality that reflects Taurus’s steadfast, loyal nature. Fixed signs are excellent at maintaining systems and Taureans prioritize consistency and reliability in all areas of their lives. It must be noted, however, that Taurus does have a bit of a reputation: What a Taurus perceives as dedication is often regarded by others as stubbornness. Accordingly, these bulls may end up lingering in unhealthy situations — whether relationships, jobs, or homes — longer than necessary just to prove a point. Despite their occasional obstinance, however, Taureans are dependable partners, soothing their friends and lovers with their trustworthiness and devotion.

Personality

Paige enjoys being a mutant, seeing it as a gift which makes her special, and constantly strives to improve control of her powers. Her goal is to one day lead the X-Men. Paige firmly believed that mutants were the next, and better step, in human evolution. She thought that being a mutant was the best gift anyone could ask for and was convinced that mutants would inherit the world.

She has little time for sleeping, seeing it has a waste of time, and prefers to be engaged in some sort of activity, physical or mental. Every morning, she wakes up at around 4AM and goes on a five mile jog, during which she also uses hand-held weights, sometimes followed then by laps in the pool.

On a less physical level, she believes in being prepared for everything. She reads books covering topics such as chemistry, quantum physics, advanced calculus and English literature. She quickly gained a reputation as a bookworm. Paige appreciates the 'originality' of her power and is keen to stretch it as far as she can, even if it means putting herself at risk. She also studies chemistry in the hope that it will help her to understand the method by which her powers work and when she gains more control over her husks.

Although she revels in her own powers and shows no fear in the face of the powers of other mutants. Mutant-powers aside, Paige, hailing from Kentucky, brings a certain 'down-home charm' to the school. She tends to have an upbeat outlook on life. However, her early life was not as easy as the others first think and she resents when people try to protect her, thinking that she can't face up to the harsh realities of life.

Even more important than her team friendships, however, is her family. Paige admits that part of her is always homesick and believes that family is the most important thing anyone can have. Appearances matter little to her and she is always disgusted when someone is judged on their "different" appearance. If anyone needs her help she will give it immediately, without a second thought.

Disikes: Cheaters, anti-mutant anything, racism, disruption, being indoors, being called or thought of as stupid just because of her accent, people who can't make up their mind, being unable to help

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths & Skills
  • Computer Literacy — Paige is highly skilled in computers: hacking, computer coding, programming, wireless systems integration technology, and has a known reputation for it.
  • Researcher — She is very studious, having made top marks in all of her classes in school. Whenever she needs to know something, she works hard to know all aspects of the subject.
  • Teamwork Makes the Dream Work — When any situation calls for it, she is savvy when it comes to teamwork and improvisation, using what she can to help figure out how to solve whatever problem she's having.
  • Leadership — Her leadership skills, though not completely honed, are pretty good. She can see where the strongest and weakest points are and, instead of working in a way that gives her all the credit, she uses the best options at the times she needs to, even if that option isn't her.
  • Art — She's quite the artist, finding that she enjoys sketching more than any other form of art.
  • Gardening — From her time in Nate Grey's alternate world, Paige picked up a love of gardening and became very skilled at it.
Weaknesses & Flaws
  • Insomniac — She doesn't sleep very well, therefore sometimes she is sluggish and slow, despite being a good student. She sees sleep as a waste of time, which could cause problems later in life.
  • Stress Power Control — When panicked or "stretched thin" between things, she cannot control what form she husks into and these changes put a huge amount of strain on her system, and can be dangerous if used incorrectly, or if she changes forms too often.
  • Hoplophobia — Her terror of guns is a weakness as well seeing as how if she even sees a gun drawn towards her or one of her friends, she has a tendency to freeze up.
  • Lightweight — She is extremely intolerant to alcohol. She's seen becoming drunk after drinking just one bottle of beer.
  • Impulsive — She's a bit impulsive sometimes, rushing into fights head on and not paying attention.
  • Secondary Mutation — Paige's secondary mutation causes her to change personalities every time she morphs. As you can imagine, that keeps her from using her powers for a while.

Husk [huhsk]

— noun
  1. the dry external covering of certain fruits or seeds, especially of an ear of corn.
  2. the enveloping or outer part of anything, especially when dry or worthless.
— verb
  1. to remove the husk from.
origin
1350—1400; Middle English huske, equivalent to hus- (akin to Old English hosu pod, husk) + -ke, weak variant of -ock.

Transitional Omni-morph Husking

A Transitional omni-morph, she has the mutant ability to shed her outer layer of skin and reveal a new layer or shape underneath, or to achieve metabolic changes in her template form, such as removing caked up dirt and grime or shedding wounded layers of tissue.

She can become any solid that she has studied and can imitate adamantium, diamond, granite, wood, rubber, brick, even glass. She has the capability to blend in with surroundings, but in order to do so, she would have to study the texture she seeks to mimic first.

She is able to shift into liquid substances, including complex acids capable of affecting organic steel.

Husk also has the ability to change only part of her body (such as changing a hand into a bladed weapon).

When Paige morphs into a different layer, she often takes on new physical abilities or qualities, such as increased weight, strength, or invulnerability.

She can husk away minor injuries, but deeper ones will stay with her.

She can hold a form for about an hour before she needs to revert back to her original form.

She can morph repeatedly and is not required to stay in any one form, but too many transformations can become very painful.

In great stress or trauma, Paige can shed without control, revealing patchwork forms.

When Paige "husks", she often sheds her clothing as well. This has the unintended side effect of leaving her nude when she returns to her normal form.

Personality Shifting

Paige's secondary mutation causes her brain chemistry to alter with every husk. This, in turn, alters her personality. As one can imagine, that kept her from using her powers for a while until she received training from Dr. Henry McCoy on how to channel this difficulty.

Connections

THE GUTHRIES

Family

Paige has always been close to her family. She was a daddy's girl before he died (she was ten) and after that, grew closer to her mother when she had to help her keep up the house and take care of all the younger siblings. Being the second oldest, it was her job. Her family consists of her father, Thomas Zebulon Guthrie; her mother, Lucinda Guthrie; her uncle, Lucas Bartholomew Guthrie; her siblings: Samuel Zachery (Cannonball); Elisabeth (Amazon); Joelle; Joshua "Jay" (Icarus); Melody (Aero); Jebediah; the twins, Lewis and Ann; Cissie and their adopted brother, Ray Cobb, Jr. There isn't anything that Paige wouldn't do for them.
RAY COBB

Lucinda's Boyfriend

Ray Cobb was a man that Lucinda began dating. Due to him being black and dating a white woman who had mutant kids, some of the townsfolk tried to ostracize them and make them feel bad about being together. It ended when Ray was killed by the Cabots. As a result, Lucinda took in his son.
WARREN WORTHINGTON III

Ex-Boyfriend

Warren wasn't Paige's first love, but he was her big love. Though there are eleven years between them, Paige loved Warren with everything she was. She'd have done anything for him, she fought beside him, she died in his arms only for him to bring her back to life with his blood. But then, from fear of losing her, he ended things without telling her why. They made up, but things still didn't work out in the long run. She refuses to admit she may still love him.
Charles Xavier

Mentor

Paige looks up to this man as the modern Ghandi. He's intelligent, he's compassionate and he's willing to go the extra mile for the mutant race even though he can't walk. She hopes that one day people will see his image of the world for what it can be and make it their own, blending the masses of humans and mutants peacefully. Until then, she's willing to kick a little ass in his name.
Ororo Munroe

Mentor

Another person in the mansion that Paige looks up to, Ororo is the epitome of beauty to Paige, as well as another extremely intelligent person. She walks gracefully, speaks eloquently and if Paige could, she'd strive to be just like her.
James "Logan" Howlett

Mentor

Logan is someone that Paige looks up to for his fighting ability and his skill to take care of what's first and foremost. He doesn't let other things get in the way and he's one hell of a scrapper. She wanted to learn under him, train and become someone he's proud of teaching.
Generation X

Team

When Paige became a mutant and left to go to Xavier's, she was grouped in with the team of Generation X. As she worked with them, she was closest to Jubilation Lee (Jubilee) and Angelo Espinosa (Skin), though she'd go to bat for any of them. She also wound up with a crush on teammate Jonothon "Jono" Starsmore (Chamber) even though he thought he wasn't worth the trouble. On the team was Jubilee, Skin, Chamber, Monet St. Croix (M), Everett Thomas (Synch), Penance and Mondo.
X-Corps

Team

After Generation X disbanded, Sean "Banshee" Cassidy took Paige, Jubilee and Monet (along with mutants Jamie "Multiple Man" Madrox, Jared "Radius Corbo, and Leyu "Sunpyre" Yoshida) under his wing as members of his mutant police force, X-Corps. Using Martinique Wyngarde (Mastemind III) to put several terrorists under his control (including Dominikos "Avalanche" Petrakis, Fred "Blob" Dukes and Fever Pitch), the downfall of X-Corps came when Mystique masqueraded as a mutant named Surge and joined, which ended in the death of Sunpyre and injury to Banshee.
X-Men

Team

Later, Paige realized her dream of being an X-Man. She joined among the ranks and immediately set to proving herself. She trained under Wolverine and pushed herself to be the best she could be. She also struck up an on-again, off-again romance with Warren "Angel" Worthington III.
The Brotherhood

Enemies

The bad guys... sort of. Paige sees the reality behind their statement, but she also sees that they lack the hope and drive it takes to create a world where mutants and humans can co-exist. She hates that mutants have to fight against their own kind, but if they don't, then there's no one who can.

Parental History

In a town like Cumberland County, Kentucky, everyone knew everyone from the moment they were born til the moment they passed. For Lucinda Dumphy and Thomas Guthrie, this was no different. The two had known each other since Lucinda was born, Tomas being three years older, and their families were friends as well.

Growing up, the two of them were best friends, doing absolutely everything together. They swore that they were only best friends and would remain that way, never dating. Their other friends told them they'd remind them of what they said on their wedding day. And still the two lived on through their young years as if they were nothing more than best friends. It wasn't until Lucinda was a freshman in high school that things changed.

THomas was a senior when Lucinda started high school and the two of them were still connected at the hip. At least, until Lucinda began dating Thomas' best friend. When that happened, Thomas began to realize how he felt for the younger woman and felt conflicted. On one hand, he didn't want to ruin their friendship. On the other, he was in love with her and didn't want to let that possibility pass. He took the opportunity to do something about it during prom, admitting to her how he felt after asking her for a dance.

After she left the boy she was with and told Thomas she felt the same way, the two were inseparable on a different level. It didn't take the two of them long to marry because they'd basically spent their entire lives together. They married when Lucinda was twenty and found out not too long after the honeymoon that they were pregnant with the first of what would be nine children. A boy that they were going to name Samuel.

Childhood

Paige is the second of ten children born to Thomas Zebulon and Lucinda Guthrie in Cumberland County, Kentucky. From the time she was old enough to understand differences, she knew she wasn't like anyone else. She didn't know how she knew, but she knew that she was destined for very big things.

With one older sibling and eight younger siblings, Paige's work load as she grew was never light. She helped her mother with the children after her father died when Paige was ten and Sam went to work in the mines. Her philosophy is family first, so when any of them would need help, she was there in a heartbeat.

By the time she had turned thirteen, Paige had learned that not only was her older brother, Sam, a mutant, but that he was also a member of the New Mutants, Cannonball. Being the oldest child after Sam, Paige assumed that she was next in line to develop a mutant power.

Despite her mother explaining to Paige that there are some things a body can't rush (or possibly because of it), she tested herself for a range of mutant powers. She was so convinced she was a mutant, she tried for some time and in many different ways, causing many different injuries, to figure out what her power was. She broke her arm jumping out of the barn hayloft to see if she could fly, almost drown in a nearby pond to see if she could breathe under water, and even sat in a bathtub full of ice to see if she could regulate her body temperature. The last led to her ice fetish. Finally, in a fit of frustration, Paige turned towards the sky and yelled "If'n ya is gonna make me inta a mutant do it soon, or Ah swear Ah'm gonna tear right outta mah own skin!" As she stood shivering in the cold night, Paige did tear right out of her skin. Pulling her clasped hands apart, she found her skin peeling away to reveal a new form. Even though Paige did not fully understand her mutant abilities, she immediately fell to her knees in joy and thanked the stars.

Paige would spend many long months trying to understand her mutant powers, while envying her brother's life at Xavier's. On one visit to Kentucky, Sam brought his teammate and girlfriend, Tabitha, home with him. Paige was secretly spying on them when they were attacked by the Upstart Sienna Blaze during the so-called "Younghunt," where the members of the Upstarts attempted to capture the former members of the New Mutants and the Hellions that were still alive. Paige attempted to use her powers to save them, but, as she later confessed to Cable as she recounted her story, she was too scared to husk into a useful form.

When X-Force went after their missing teammates and friends, Paige volunteered to go along with them, but Cable forbade it since Paige was too much of a novice. Despite his warnings, Paige followed X-Force through Cable's portal. She was able to morph into a form that allowed her to remain hidden from the Gamesmaster until both X-Force and the New Warriors were beaten by the Upstarts. Fearing for her brother's life, Paige confronted the Gamesmaster.

Paige was able to defeat the Upstarts by convincing the Gamesmaster that, instead of destroying the next generation of mutants, he should attempt to train them.

Following the battle, Paige briefly stayed with X-Force in Shinobi Shaw's Swiss Chalet before they returned her to Kentucky. Despite being exposed to the realities and dangers of the super hero lifestyle, Paige made it clear that she wanted to be trained in the use of her powers. When Cable began to explain that he didn't have the resources to train her, Paige told Cable that she wasn't interested in his teachings, but that she wanted to be trained by Charles Xavier.

Sam and Tabitha brought Paige back home, where she got to learn more about Sam's life, including the fact that he was, or at least it was believed at that time, immortal. Sam had hoped to dissuade his sister from following in his footsteps, but Paige explained to him that she thought leaving Xavier's was the dumbest thing he ever did and that she was going to become the X-Man Sam could have been, even though Xavier wasn't exactly training new mutants anymore.

A short time later, Paige was attacked and kidnapped by the techno-organic creatures called the Phalanx, Along with several other young mutants, she was being analyzed by the Phalanx for a way to assimilate mutants as easily as they could assimilate humans. From the moment she was captured, Paige was confident that the X-Men would come to rescue her and the others. She even remained optimistic when parts of her skin turned techno-organic, a clean indication of her being infected with the transmode virus.

Fortunately, Banshee and the White Queen went after the captured teenagers together with mansion "gues", Sabretooth, and Jubilee. Paige was saved from the infection by Sabretooth, who shredded her outer layer of infected skin, activating her powers and creating a new, uninfected skin. The Phalanx still endangering the entire group, another of the captured mutants, Clarice "Blink" Ferguson, sacrificed herself to save ehr new friends, even though Paige begged her not to.

Following the incident with the Phalanx, Xavier decided to open a new classes for mutants in training, though not at his mansion. While the mansion in Westchester was renamed to the "Xavier Institute for Higher Learning", the new "Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters" was opened up at the old Massachusett's Academy, with Banshee and Emma Frost serving as Headmaster and Headmistress. Naturally, Paige enrolled, hoping to take her first steps towards becoming an X-Man.

From her first day at Xavier's, Husk, as Paige was now calling herself, aspired to lead Generation X. She worked hard to be the best she could be - physically, academically, and even socially by working to get rid of her Kentucky accent. However, she was a bit overeager in her attempts to prove herself capable. While searching for the mysterious Penance, Paige took on the dangerous mutant one-on-one. Underestimating the sharpness of Penance's razor-sharp skin, Paige was easily beaten and left with some bad gashes in her am, which required medical attention after Paige changed back to her normal form.

Paige's once idealist vision of the life of the mutant hero was once more shattered when she learned of the Legacy Virus.

Coping with this news, Paige got drunk while most of Generation X was in New York. She was found by Chamber, who helped to sober her up. Paige, who had developed an attraction to Jonothon, and either out of drunkenness or despair, kissed him. Jono was startled and lost control of his powers, destroying the girls' dormitory. Luckily, neither of them were hurt.

Jonothon chose not to tell the others about Paige's involvement in the incident. Paige was grateful to be spared the embarrassment of being a part of the dormitory explosion, but Jono misunderstood her, thinking she was embarrassed that the others would find out about her feelings for a "monster" like him.

When Paige's younger sister, Joelle, got involved with Humanity's Last Stand, Sam brought Paige along with him and some of the X-Men to investigate, much to the surprise of Mrs. Guthrie, who hadn't expected to see Paige home so soon.

While infiltrating the organization, Paige was attacked and taken hostage. She attempted to pretend that she wasn't scared when Sam and the X-Men eventually recused her but, based on the sudden reemergence of Paige's accent, Sam knew better. When Joelle saw what Humanity's Last Stand was really about, she came back to her senses and left the organization.

Not long after, Paige returned to the Massachusett's Academy, the school was attacked by Omega Red.

Paige and the rest of Generation X were saved by Chamber, who managed to single handedly take out the villain. She awkwardly tried to thank Jono afterwards, but he brushed Paige off, feeling somewhat awkward himself. It isn't everyday you almost die in someone's arms, after all. Following this event, both of them struggled with their feelings for some time.

Before long, some of their teammates noticed, and Husk confided in Mondo that she feared a relationship with Chamber would never work. Mondo, though, pointed out that never was a long time. Paige didn't get a chance to act on his advice because, before the conversation was even over, Generation X were kidnapped by minions of Emplate, Generation X's personal arch villain.

While the team eventually broke free, Emplate was able to brainwash Paige's teammate, Synch, and set him after his family in St. Louis. In an effort to save their friend, Husk accompanied some of her teammates. Although Paige had been preparing herself in every way to become team leader, in the head of the battle it was Jubilee and not her who came up with the perfect strategy to take Synch down.

As he had troubles duplicating Paige's powers, the plan involved her fighting Synch one-on-one to wear him down. However, when Synch interrupted one of her transformations before she was ready, Husk was caught in a rather painful form. Still, Paige fought on through the pain and was winning until she collapsed from the strain. The timely arrival of Monet ended the confrontation.

Barely having come to terms with the information about the Legacy Virus, Paige then had to deal with a world that had a renewed hatred towards mutants, due to the Onslaught crisis, during which Professor X lost control of his powers and created a powerful entity that was responsible for the apparent deaths of the Avengers and the Fantastic Four. Banshee consoled Paige, telling her that the world was ugly, but they were fighting to make it a better place. When Franklin Richards, the son of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, temporarily came to stay with Generation X, Paige was able to help him deal with his parents' deaths, since she had already lived through the death of their father.

For her first Thanksgiving after enrolling at Xavier's, Paige invited Jono to go back to the Guthrie farm with her. Jono spent the whole trip explaining to Paige that he could never give her the normal, happy life that she wanted. Eventually, Paige yelled at Jono, saying that she kissed him because she liked him, not because she wanted a relationship with him like her mother had with her father. Jono left the Guthrie farm, telling Paige he hoped that he didn't ruin her Thanksgiving and that it was a bad idea for him to come along with her.

Although Paige called him a jerk, she began to cry when he was gone. The experience was so bad that, a few months later for Christmas, Paige decided to go to Monaco with Jubilee, Monet and Emma instead of home to the farm.

Soon thereafter, Generation X was soon attacked by Black Tom Cassidy, who kidnapped Paige and most of the other students and placed them somewhere in the Pacific on a raft made of plants. Adrift in the ocean, the kids were about to die from exposure, and especially Paige was in a bad shape as her body was in shock from Black Tom having caught her in mid-transformation. However, when Jono tried to protect Paige from the sun, she angrily told him that if they were going to be teammates he needed to treat her as an equal.

Fortunately, the team was found by Glorian, the Shaper of Dreams. Trying to give them happiness, Glorian altered reality so that Jono had his face restored and was still aiming to be a rock star, with Paige being his girlfriend. However, eventually Glorian had to realize that he hadn't looked deep enough, as his gifts weren't what Generation X truly desired. For example, the last thing Paige wanted was to be taken care of. Instead, Glorian transported the teenagers to Los Angeles.

In L.A., Generation X were hunted by Prime Sentinels of Bastion's Operation: Zero Tolerance. While hiding out in a garage, well aware that these might be their final minutes together Jono apologized to Paige for the ruined Thanksgiving and the two began to get along with each other. Thanks to Husk's inventiveness and a good portion of luck, the mutant teenagers managed to survive until Bastion's operation was shut down by SHIELD and they could safely return home to the Massachusetts Academy.

While Paige and the others were in town having dinner one evening, the school was broken into and several items were stolen, one of which was Paige's diary, containing a lot of secrets regarding Xavier's. Paige, Jubilee and Angelo tracked down the thief only to learn that she was none other than Tracey Authier, the daughter of the local chief of police.

Although Tracey had read the diary, she just thought it was all a product of Paige's imagination. She still used the diary to blackmail Paige into taking Tracey to the Institute and showing her around. Unfortunately, their visit happened to coincide with Emplate attacking the school, and Tracey witnessed first hand supernatural beings, such as a Token and a Pooka. Apparently, the experience of seeing Generation X in action and the good influence of her father changed Tracey, so that she would not tell anyone about the students being mutants.

On a trip to the Harvest Festival, Generation X encountered a group of Asgardian Trolls who sent a Ferris Wheel rolling out of control. The team worked to make sure no one was hurt, during which Paige acted as leader. Seeing her transform, the Trolls thought she was capable of using "magic" and kidnapped her, hoping that she could help them to get back to Asgard. In order to appease the trolls, Paige gave them some of her husked gold skin, making them promise to go deep into the woods where they wouldn't scare anyone.

Receiving a call from her brother, Sam, Paige learned that their mother was very sick. She decided to head back home to take care of her family while her mother was undergoing therapy. Before she left, she made it a point to talk to Jono, and asked him to stay at the Academy at least until she got back, for they still had a lot of things to sort out between them. Jono, who had temporarily lost his ability to communicate telepathically, a side-effect of the so-called Psi-War between Psylocke and the Shadow King, burned a heart into a piece of paper with his powers, showing Paige that he was going to be there when she got back. And that he loved her.

Paige's mother made a quick recovery and she came back to school sooner than anyone, especially Jono, expected. When Husk returned to campus, she mistakenly expected Jono to start acting like a boyfriend, but he wasn't ready to be close to Paige and gave her a bit of a cold shoulder.

Fed up with his attitude, Paige got herself a new haircut and decided to move on and start flirting with other boys, much to Jono's discomfort. Around the same time, the Massachusetts Academy had to open its doors to human students as well, forcing Generation X to wear facemasks to avoid recognition.

The Academy being somewhat understaffed, Banshee asked Tom Corsi to become a guest lecturer and studying the student's files, he was shocked at what little progress they had made in controlling their powers during their stay. In a training session, he had Paige shed one skin numerous times only to reveal a glass form underneath — something she had never morphed into before.

A problem arose in Tristan Brawn, one of the new human students at the school. He had discovered that Paige and the others were mutants and used this information to blackmail them. He promised to keep it a secret, as long as Paige agreed to go out on a date with him. While the rest of the team were firmly against it, Paige agreed to the date — as she found Tristan to her liking. Despite being told by Paige that it wasn't his business anymore, Jono still threatened to blow Tristan's face off if he hurt Paige.

Chamber's jealousy also affected the team's performance, for when Generation X was sent on a mission to Madripoor with Husk acting as their field leader, he constantly questioned her authority, despite the others backing up Paige's plan.

Some time after they returned, Paige and Tristan finally had their date, which happened to coincide with the night of the school ball. The dance was ruined by Emplate and his minions attacking, but Generation X managed to keep them contained before the other students could see them. After the fight, Tristan confessed to Paige how worried he was about her and the two kissed. Paige soon became his girlfriend and began to study less than she used to and dress nicer. She even stopped talking to Jono.

In an attempt to get revenge on her sister, Emma, Adrienne Frost exposed the truth about the Generation X kids being mutants in the form of widespread rumors across the school. Panic spread throughout the Academy and parents came to take their kids away. To top everything off, Adrienne had planted several bombs around the school and, in an effort to save the lives of some of the other students, Synch sacrificed his own life.

With the mansion in ruins and Tristan leaving along the with the rest of the human students, his and Paige's relationship came to an early end.

The shock of one of her teammates dying caused Paige to revert back to her overeagerness. Over the next several months, she intensely trained in the use of her mutant powers, while also trying to keep tabs on mutant affairs on the internet, although she and the rest of Generation X had given up on the idea of becoming super heroes.

Husk eventually discovered reports of kids going missing, and she rallied Generation X to look into the matter. They discovered the kids were being taken to the so-called "House of Correction", where they were being experimented on. During the team shutting down the House of Correction, Paige demonstrated impressive computer skills and a strange rubber form capable of super-speed that she could husk into. It also seemed to be the case that she and Jono had finally become friends without any weirdness ensuing between them.

While keeping up with her ongoing project of monitoring the media for all suspicious mutant activities, Paige decided to skip a trip into the city that the rest of her teammates were going on. Instead, she stayed at the school alone, where she encountered the ghost of a former student of the Massachusetts' Academy. The girl showed her scars from the abuse she had suffered at the school and pointed her to a letter she had written and hidden in the attic. Paige tracked down the girl's sister, now an elderly woman, and gave her the letter. she then held the crying woman in her arms, finally learning the truth of what had happened to her sister.

Finally, the members of Generation X decided to leave the school, brought on among other things by Emma Frost's scary behavior (she had murdered her sister, Adrienne), Banshee drinking too much after the death of Moira McTaggert and the fact that Jono had been invited by Xavier to graduate to the X-Men.

While the others were happy for Chamber, they also realized that life should have more in store than just waiting for them to receive a similar letter. Paige tearfully bade Jono good-bye, as they never really had a chance to figure out where they stood. Jono told her that he'd written her a letter, promising her this wasn't good-bye. Realizing that he wanted to help people but not necessarily as an X-Man, Paige then headed north to aid a group of environmentalists to protect a forest preserve from a company's attempts to gain permission to drill for oil there.

Over the next weeks, Paige followed media reports of Jono's public love affair with pop-star Sugar Kane and was rather disappointed. It seemed that he hadn't taken too long to forget her. It hurt her horribly to know that, while he refused to be with her in any sense of the word, he could hop into a relationship with a celebrity. Her trust in love was seriously hampered for awhile.

When Banshee eventually sobered up, he started the paramilitary organization he called the X-Corps. He contacted his former students individually and Paige, Monet and Jubilee each agreed to join out of concern for the former teacher's extreme tactics, as some members of the group were former villains, brainwashed into service. When some of them broke free and took control of the X-Corps from within, starting a rampage all over Paris, Husk, M and Jubilee assisted the X-Men in bringing down the X-Corp. During the incident, Paige also ran into Jono, the same awkwardness from before occurring between them.

Adulthood

Following the disbanding of X-Corps, Paige returned to Xavier's mansion with the X-Men. During that time she developed feelings for Warren Worthington III, aka Archangel, and as a result had earned herself the scorn of Stacy X, a recent addition to the X-Men who, too, had a crush on the winged mutant. Able to "read" the pheromones that Paige was emitting, Stacy embarrassed Paige in front of the X-Men by revealing her feelings to everyone else... including Warren. Husk ran away and found a shoulder to cry on in school nurse Annie Ghazikhanian, who she confided in and found a friend in.

If Paige's dream of becoming an X-Man ever really ended in the first place, it now returned.

After discovering the Worthington's company was funding Lobo Technologies, which was actually a front for a group of savage mutant werewolves, Paige helped the X-Men to investigate. While fighting the werewolves, Paige and Warren were separated from the team and ended up both seriously hurt. They barely escaped into the woods, where they passed out, lying on top of each other.

Archangel, recently having undergone a secondary mutation, his blood now possessed miraculous healing properties, which brought back Paige from the brink of death and accelerated both of their healing. Paige was a little shocked and flustered that, in order to save her, he had to press his naked chest to hers. The near death experience helped Warren to finally come to terms with his former lover, Psylocke's, death, and he also realized how much Paige meant to him. After this adventure, they started dating.

Things looked promising for Paige -- she had officially achieved her dream of becoming an X-Man and, with Stacy X quitting and leaving the mansion, there seemed to be no more interference in her and Warren's glowing relationship. However, Jono returning to the mansion from a week-long undercover mission changed that. Paige barely got the chance to deal with the new love triangle she found herself caught in, as, a few days later, operatives of the Church of Humanity crucified several mutants on the front lawn of the mansion. To her and Jono's horror, two of these mutants happened to be their old teammates, Jubilee and Skin.

Taxing Archangel's healing capabilities to the limit, the X-Men were able to resurrect some of the victims, Jubilee being among them. Chamber and Husk were both thrilled but it was bittersweet when they realized that Skin was not coming back.

As always, the X-Men grieved and moved on. Paige eventually chose Warren over Jono, taking into account several instances from their past, and Chamber decided to use his emotional state to the X-Men's advantage as it provided a good cover for his apparent switch in sides, joining the new Weapon X program. At the same time, him going undercover allowed Paige to be with Warren without fearing about hurting Jono. Jubilee, on the other hand, decided to stay at the mansion and resumed her close friendship with Paige, who helped her through losing Angelo.

During a visit to Angelo's grave, the two girls learned of the graveyard's owner wanting to dig up his body because several other tenants having complained about a mutant being buried there. Despite Paige and Jubilee's best efforts to stop it, Angelo was unearthed and cremated. A few weeks later, Warren suddenly broke it off with Paige — the age gap (eleven years) between them being only one reason for his decision.

When Paige learned of the crisis going on in her family home, the X-Men went with her to help handle a group of mutant haters oppressing the family. During their stay, Warren ended up having a heart-to-heart with Lucinda, during which he confessed that his actual reason for the breakup with Paige was because he loved her so much that he feared he couldn't handle her getting hurt or killed in the line of duty. Of course, Paige overheard all this and stormed into the kitchen, promptly calling Warren an idiot for not talking about his fears to her. An understanding between the two of them was reached and it brought their relationship to a more serious level... so serious that Warren flew Paige into the sky in order to consumate their relationship with no worries about the fact that the X-Men and Paige's mother were below them and could see.

After Xavier went to Genosha, Cyclops took over as the headmaster for Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and decided to reorganize the X-Men. He took both Husk and Archangel off of the active rosters becauses he wanted to send Warren to Genosha and keep an eye on the activities of the Professor.

Planning on heading to Genosha with Warren, their trip ended up being postponed when Warren began work on a new project with Hank McCoys: Mutantes Sans Frontieres, a pro-mutant organization that would operate where the X-Men or their extension, the X-Corporation, had no authority. The reception gala in celebration of the office in Zanzibar was interrupted by a group called The Weaponeers, who were being employed by Viper. Paige and Warren did their best to fight The Weaponeers, but, if not for some of Xavier's Genoshan friends joining them and Viper eventually switching sides, they wouldn't have survived.

In the wake of "M-Day", when the majority of the world's mutant population lost their powers, Husk was one of the few who retained hers and returned to Xavier's to assist the X-Men with the fallout. While the more senior X-Men dealt with the emergencies, Husk spent her time taking calls from various parents of students, reassuring them as best she could. She thought that was the bests use of her time in order to keep from wallowing in the break up that happened with Warren before she left.

Bottling up her emotions from her split with Warren didn't help her in the long run. Or the short run. Keeping her emotions in ended up leading to an extreme emotional outburt when she picked a fight with the soldiers of the Office of National Emergency, who were positioned at the Xavier Institute for the protection of mutants that arrived seeking sanctuary. Because of the fight, Paige's personal belongings were confiscated. She sought comfort with her brother, Sam, as they assisted the mutant refugees with supplies. When the two siblings hacked into the personal filed of Colonel Reyes, Paige managed to get her things back.

Tragerdy struck the Xavier Institute and the Guthrie family when an anti-mutant organization massacred many of the students. Jay Guthrie, otherwise known as Icarus, was shot and killed (his wings having already been cut off so his healing could not be activated) by the organization's leader. When their mother came for Jay's funeral, Paige made the decision to return home for awhile and help her mother take care of the remaining Guthrie siblings.

After the X-Men and majority of the world's remaining mutant population relocated to San Francisco, California, Paige decided to make the move as well and join them, arriving just in time to assist the X-Men during the Skrull invasion. Being reunited with Warren during the fight, she showed she was still interested in him but made no move to repair their broken relationship. She moved to the island of Utopia off the coast of San Francisco with the mutant population fought in several battles, including the one against Norman Osborn's Dark Avengers.

Utopia, however, was not what it's name suggested. It didn't take long after the initial battles for danger to rear it's head once again, this time in the form of the X-Men's enemy, Selene. The mutant raised numerous friends and foes of the X-Men from the dead under her thrall and used them to attack. Though Paige was reunited with her friends Synch and Skin, she was forced to fight them in order to survive. It was a devastating blow to an already broken heart. Afterwards, she was assigned to a away team that journeyed to Muir Island in order to investigate the visions of one of the young mutants there called Blindfold. There, they encountered the mutant, Proteus, who took possession of most of the away team, including Paige. Under Proteus' influence, Paige demonstrated new uses of her powers shredding away her skin and displaying a lava form, in which she was able to fire waves of lava. Under Proteus' possession, Husk held her own against Rogue, though Proteus commented that he nevertheless didn't like Paige's power, as it was unpredictable. The possession didn't last long and Paige was soon freed from his thrall, free to help her team defeat Proteus and depart Muir Island.

The calm before the storm was always interesting. Sometimes it meant another storm was coming. For Paige, it was in the form of herself. She began to act flaky - in more ways than one. She became easily distracted and her powers began acting up, molting flakes of skin everywhere. When the mutant community began to divide itself into two factions after Wolverine decided to leave Utopia, Husk decided to leave as well with Cannonball and move back to Westchestser, siding with Logan. Her bizarre behavior and skin-shedding did not go unnoticed by others during this time, either.

At the newly built Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, Husk became one of the junior faculty members, as did her brother, Sam, and ex-boyfriend, Jono. Paige taught Introduction to Mutant Literature and History of Mutant Art to the young mutant students, and like most of the X-Men based at Westchestser, donned a new costume. She did, however, cover her face with an over-sized hood. However, before long, Paige began to worry that she was not cut out for teaching and told her teammates that the children didn't listen.

Misbehaving young mutants weren't Paige's only problem. Husk tried to ignore these problems with her abilities even after she was confronted by Sam, though. Still, despite her issues, Paige proved useful during an attack on the school, displaying her molten lava form as she did when possessed by Proteus. When Sam tried to confront Paige on another occasion, she once again shrugged her brother off, assuring him that she was fine when she clearly wasn't.

When the Avengers declared war on the X-Men, the Westchester team was given the option of siding with Wolverine and the Avengers, or joining Cyclops' team at war. The third option was remaining at the school to look after the students. Paige's personal problems weighed heavily on her and she couldn't make a decision, deferring to Sam for his opinion. They both remained at the school, though Sam later joined the war at Utopia.

Paige became one of the few faculty members to remain at the school, although she found herself unqualified to teach the many subjects lumbered on her. Additionally, her molting skin seemed to increase so much that she was leaving entire husks of herself sitting around. Her mental state could be called into question further by her newfound friendship with Toad, the janitor. They would spend time exploring the caves beneath the school and Paige even started turning her body into a similar form as Toad's so she could run along the ceiling of the cave with him. Paige also referred to Toad by his real name, Mortimer, something that no one else at the school did. Shortly after, Paige was confronted about her erratic behavior and powers by the headmistress, Kitty Pryde.

After Paige took immediate offense, Kitty explained that she just wanted to help Paige and informed her that she would no longer be able to teach at the Jean Grey School until she could admit that something was wrong and let others help her. Instead of waiting to be fired, Paige quit her position. Before she left the school, though, Paige spent time with Mortimer and, though she told him that their time together had been precious, when he asked her if he could go with her, she turned him down and said she had to find her own place in life. She promised, however, that she would be back for him.

Paige did find her own place in life, linking up with the newly formed Hellfire Academy, where she was offered a faculty position as Head Librarian. Unfortunately, it did nothing to improve her mental instability. In fact, when she and several other Hellfire Academy faculty met up with Roada and Kid Omega to bring them to the academy, Paige vowed that she wanted the Jean Grey School and the X-Men to burn in hell forever. As life at the Hellfire Academy got underway, Paige continued to show her mental instability, shouting at the students and shifting her form into bizarre dinosaur forms.

When Toad and Kid Omega realized things were wrong at the academy, they confronted some of the staff and students, including Husk, who refused to listen to Toad when he tried to tell her something was off. Husk said she was embarrassed by Road and regretted ever letting him put his tongue on her. As the X-Men invaded the Hellfire Academy to retrieve their missing students and put an end to the academy's schemes, Husk and Toad fought each other ferociously. It was Toad who brought the normal Paige back by using his tongue to pull at Husk's skin over and over, until the regular, human-looking Paige was found. She was confused as to what was going on and as to why Toad was hugging her. He helped Paige escape the Academy and meet up with the X-Men. She was taken back to the Jean Grey School and put in the infimary for observation.

Recovering at the Jean Grey School, it was discovered that Paige's unstable mental state was a result of her secondary mutation - that when she husked, it didn't just change her body, but her mind too. Paige received training by Hank McCoy on how to channel this difficulty. She nervously confronted Toad when he was kicked out of the school and informed him that she didn't remember everything that happened between them. However, taking the chance, Paige asked Toad to meet her at the coffee shop in town later so they could find out what was there between the two of them. The meeting never happened, however. Paige showed up, but Toad found himself meeting with the remaining Hellfire Club children. He left with one, but attacked another, Manuel Enduque. The X-Men found Manuel and took him to the school, where Paige spoke to him in her new role as the Guidance Counselor. It was definitely a role she was perfect to fill.

For a little while, Paige spent her spare time moonlighting for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Non-Human Resources Deparment at Tabula Rasa. After it was dismantled she remained there to take care of the fauna, but they were soon disturbed by "Fakepool" (the Chameleon posing as Deadpool, stealing and selling S.H.I.E.L.D. weapons). She teamed up afterwards with Deadpool and Spider-Man, coming under attack by "Fakepool" and the creatures of Tabula Rasa.

Husk was one of the many mutants that opposed the crazed X-Man from remaking the world in his image. When X-Man realized that his vision of the world would never come about with the X-Men around, X-Man made his enemies vanish in an instant, including Husk. She was sent to a different reality created by Nate Grey and a Life Seed, a world where everyone on Earth was a mutant and relationships were strongly discouraged or illegal. She became a teacher in the Agricultural Division at the Summers Institute for Higher Learning and tried to show some students, like Glob Herman and Shark-Girl, that it fell to them to nurture the produce and livestock they manufactured there, so that their community could prosper from it.

When Nate decided to release the mutants he'd trapped, she was sent back to the real world, finding herself a little discombobulated and struggling to fit back into the swing of things at first. Because of this, she went to live on Krakoa, the sovereign Mutant nation state created by Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Moira X.

She later joined Cyclops' team on a mission to destroy Mother Mold before the creation of Nimrod. Husk and Angel were both confused at some of Cyclops' methods. The team was spotted as they neared their destination, and subsequently blown up in retaliation. The explosion killed both Archangel and Husk, but the survivors continued on to destroy Mothermold.

The team was later resurrected by a group of mutants known as “the Five” (Eva Bell, Proteus, Hope Summers, Elixir, and Goldballs). Merging their powers, the Five were able transfer the deceased X-Men’s minds into cloned bodies. They were later proclaimed as the heroes of Krakoa.
